About 2-1-1 Child Care

2-1-1 Child Care is a free and confidential child care referral telephone service provided by the United Way of Connecticut and the State of Connecticut. Child Care Referral Specialists are available to assist parents and child care professionals in locating appropriate resources and referrals.

2-1-1 Child Care maintains current listings of all state licensed child care centers and family child care homes, as well as listings for nanny agencies, nursery schools, play groups and summer camp programs in Connecticut. There is no charge to parents who call nor is there a charge to child care programs listed. Information provided are referrals only and not recommendations or endorsements of any program.

Services to parents include referrals to child care programs that meet their individual needs and information on choosing quality child care, current program openings and detailed program information, financial assistance and more.

Services to early child care professionals include referrals to training and workshops, and information on Accreditation programs, First Aid/CPR and administration of medication courses, and more.

Other services include how to become a licensed child care provider plus data and statistics related to Connecticut's child care system.
